One of my favorite parts of our homeschool routine is our Morning Time Basket. It’s a curated collection of resources that sets a positive tone for our day. Here’s a peek into what we’re using this year:

Faith and Bible Study
- Faithopedia by Not Consumed Ministries: Faithopedia is an apologetics resource that helps children explore and understand the Bible in a fun and interactive way.
- To Every Nation by Not Consumed: This missionary study introduces children to the lives of 12 different missionaries. Each story is an inspiring example of faith and the impact one person can have on the world. It’s a wonderful way to instill a global perspective and a heart for missions in our kids.
- My Scripture Workbook by The Daily Grace Co.: This workbook is a fantastic tool for helping my boys memorize and internalize Scripture. It includes a variety of activities such as writing, coloring, and tracing verses, which cater to different learning styles and make scripture memory an enjoyable process.
- Route 66: A Trip Through the 66 Books of the Bible: This study guide takes kids on a journey through all 66 books of the Bible, providing an overview and key themes of each one. It’s a great way to give them a broad understanding of the Bible’s structure and narrative. There’s a lot of reading in this curriculum so we are moving very slowly through it.
- The New City Catechism for Kids: The New City Catechism provides a solid theological foundation through a series of questions and answers. I pre-write the questions in their notebooks and have them fill in the answers. We work on one truth daily and read them aloud at the end of the week.
Life Skills
- Etiquette Intermediate by The Etiquette Factory: Etiquette Intermediate is a simple resource for teaching children the importance of manners, respect, and proper behavior in various situations. Through short lessons and practical activities, our kids learn valuable life skills that will serve them well.

Language and Literature
- Spanish from The Talk Box Mom: We’re incorporating Spanish into our Morning Time with resources from The Talk Box Mom. Her approach is practical and conversational, which helps the children (and me!) pick up the language naturally as we go about our day.
- Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Introducing my kids to Shakespeare this year. We will read through the play together, discuss its themes and characters, and maybe act out scenes. I also grabbed a few picture books and my favorite resource here to help us understand the play.
I don’t try to do all the things everyday. I’ve created a loop schedule and just do what we can in about 30 minutes. The next day I pick up where we left off. Here’s what my loop schedule looks and the procedures I created for other subjects.
