1.“39 Clues” by Rick Riordan

First, Rick Riordan’s “39 Clues” series turned us into world-traveling treasure hunters. With clues to solve, puzzles to crack, and historical secrets to unveil, this audiobook had us solving mysteries alongside the protagonists. We loved every book in this series and couldn’t wait to read them all together. Not only that, I created a unit study to use along side all 10 books. I’ll share more details in another post.

2. “MasterMinds” by Gordon Korman

In “MasterMinds” by Gordon Korman, we unraveled the mysteries lurking beneath the surface of seemingly perfect Serenity. The audiobook’s suspenseful storytelling had us glued to our seats, uncovering secrets, laughing out loud and questioning everything we thought we knew. We finished all three books in about two weeks!

3. “Ascendance Series” by Jennifer A. Nielsen

Deception, impersonation, and political intrigue take center stage in the “Ascendance Series” by Jennifer A. Nielsen. We followed the journey of an impostor prince as he navigated treacherous waters, challenging us to ponder the essence of leadership and identity.

4. “The Green Ember” by S.D. Smith

“The Green Ember” by S.D. Smith introduced us to brave rabbits determined to reclaim their homeland. With the soothing narration and heart-pounding moments, this audiobook had us joining in the battle against oppression and finding strength in unity. This was also one of the first audiobooks we listened to and set the stage for our love of great literature.

5. “Lunar Chronicles” by Marissa Meyer

Imagine classic fairy tales set in a futuristic galaxy—this is the wonder of Marissa Meyer’s “Lunar Chronicles.” Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and more come to life in a world where androids, cyborgs, and moon colonies exist side by side. My daughter and I could not get enough of these books. We had so many great conversations during this series.

6. “Renegades” by Marissa Meyer

If you’ve ever wondered about the lives of superheroes and villains beyond their capes, “Renegades” by Marissa Meyer is your answer. The intricate world-building and moral dilemmas in this audiobook had us questioning the very nature of heroism.

7. “Fablehaven” by Brandon Mull

Brandon Mull strikes again with “Fablehaven,” a series where mythical creatures and secret refuges collide. Our family was swept away by the enchanting world of magical creatures, hidden sanctuaries, and the battle between light and darkness.

8. “The Prince Warriors” by Priscilla Shirer

Calling all young warriors and spiritual adventurers! “The Prince Warriors” by Priscilla Shirer took us on a faith-filled journey where biblical truths and epic battles converged. With the power of imagination and the armor of God, we joined the heroes in their quest to save the unseen realm. Also, there is a great devotional that goes along with these books.
